" A 17-year-old gunman went on the rampage at his former high school in southern Germany this morning, leaving 15 people dead and several others injured, before he was killed in a shootout with police."
On Monday, January 29th, 1979, Brenda Spencer took a rifle given to her by her father for Christmas and aimed it at her school across the road. She shot two people dead and wounded eight children. She held the police at bay for 6 hours and when she gave herself up and was asked why she did it, she shrugged her shoulders and replied: "I don't like Monday's".
This was one of the first 'school shooters' and inspired a big hit when I was a kid by the Boomtown Rats.
