Classification of cannabis

The government has rejected advice from a group of scientists not to change the classification of cannabis. They argue that a clear message needs to be sent out to young people that cannabis is dangerous to health, especially mental health. 

The evidence suggests that there may be a causal link between cannabis and schizophrenia.
